| Once Achan’s sin was exposed in chapter 7, the Lord said, “Don’t be dismayed, I’m giving you the victory” in chapter 8. The successful person in life is the one who gets up one more time than he or she is knocked down. Too many Christians, when they are dealt a blow, lay in the dust day after day and don’t get up. “Forgetting the things which lie behind, I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” Paul declared (Philippians 3:13-14).
